Babel-On

So this is the long awaited last video on the Jewish prehistory passages in Genesis. The tower of Babel is a story that has received much critique and debate, so hopefully this will help along the discussion. Obviously, all the issues surrounding the text will not be fully addressed in my 5 minute video, so feel free to ask further questions.

Just a Little Rain

This video looks at Genesis 6-9 concerning Noah and the great flood. Great in the sense that it was huge, not in the sense that it was really fun time. There are a number of issues in this text, and there have been volumes written on it, but my video is only 5 minutes long. That means my goal for the video was simply to cover the author’s main point in including this narrative in the overall story. Let me know if I do a good enough job explaining how that works, because I really breezed over a lot of stuff. Thanks and stay tuned:)

Your Worst Life Now

Since we are discussing a heavy chapter like Genesis 3, I thought I might lend a little levity to the discussion with the title. 3 points to anyone who can tell me what the reference is, and yes I am keeping track of points! I have written a companion paper with this video that covers some of the secondary stuff going on in this chapter. The video of course hits the high points, but there is just so much happening in this one chapter! Well, enjoy, and as always please feel free to post with comments, questions, and discrepancies. In The Beginning

Okay, so this is the first video where I actually dive into scripture. Understand that there have been volumes written on each chapter I am gonna look at, and I am dedicated to making a video no longer than six minutes. Be gentle. There is a ton that I am not able to cover due to time, so for further reading on the subject, I highly recommend these books:

Genesis 1-4 by Collins

He Gave us Stories by Pratt

Far as the Curse is Found by Williams

Preaching the Whole Bible as Christian Scripture by Goldsworthy

If there are any questions or discrepancies, please feel free to post here and I will do my best to answer.

      THE SEMINARIAN WAGER

Everyone has faith. Regardless of how our faith developed, we should be willing to critically analyze those beliefs. While analyzing the validity of our faith, we should also be willing to analyze the validity of our doubts and cultural preconditions. If we are willing to do this, we wager that over time, the roots of our faith will strengthen toward truth, and will not be uprooted during challenging times. This site aims to provide worthwhile discussion regarding a critical evaluation of both religious belief and modern doubts.
